Whether a nurturing belly rub from a mother, a congratulatory high five with a buddy, a fully present handshake with a new acquaintance and of course treatment from a professional body worker or health care practitioner. Curiosities of wanting to understand this phenomenon led me to study massage therapy at Sutherland Chan in 2008.
I believe the body is a sacred vehicle which carries tension and strain from everyday life, armours itself against painful experiences and becomes fatigued by all that we demand of it, yet it also provides us with fantastic abilities to engage with life in a meaningful way. Our bodies are places where we store much of our deep wisdom & our own essential abilities for healing. It is through experiencing bodywork that we become more aligned with these aspects of Self.
I have studied various modalities within the health & wellness world including
Myofascial release, Reiki, Thai Massage, Sports Nutrition, Personal Training, Yoga, Chinese Medicine and currently I am passionately dedicated to Shamanic studies and am an apprentice on the Sweet Medicine SunDance Path.
